France's homage to Andrea

I'm really speechless. I have this moly and Suzanne's on my desk and I have no idea how on earth I'm going to follow these amazing drawings. France, mon amie, extraordinaire! Andrea, you're getting an awesome moly here, I hope I don't mess it up too much!

Grande, grande, grande! It deserves all the time we've been waiting! You've really imitated Andrea without hidding your own personality, a masterwork of pastiche!
Gaby: am I wrong or this is the corner where you roast your steaks?

Omigod. Omigod!! I LOVE it. I love it SO much. Damn. You do it better than me. It's fabulous France. Thank you thank you thank you.

I'm just on my lunch break from boring work. It makes going back easier. I can sit and smile all afternoon. And, I have still to post Suzanne's goregous contribution to Juj's Moley.

God, I love this project.

I love this project too, Andrea!
I was shaking as i was about to put the pen on the paper when i started this! I even made a 20-second film of it, in case i would mess it all up.

Andrea, trying to draw in your style was an eye-opener. I now want to draw more things with print, more cookie boxes, more stuff lying around. My stuff has taken a more poetic dimension. I kid you not.

This is stuff from my purse, by the way -- NJ transit ticket, Paris subway ticket, swimming pool entrance ticket, business card, the Harveys tag of my purse, a movie ticket, the back of a supermarket receipt from Santa Cruz, California, etc. Stuff that i transport every day with me. Little pieces of my life, lest i should forget where the past few years have gone.

OH MY GOSH...I'm in awe. This is just too much. I don't think I can take it anymore.

I LOVE the pen by the way...one of my favorite parts.

It is so funny that this is the contents of your purse France...wait 'til you see my blog post tomorrow. That's exactly what I drew in my sketchbook last night. Hmmm, this could be a really cool theme.

Before I say anything about how amazing I think this is I want you all to know that intimidates the crap out of me, that it makes me a little depressed, that it inspires me, makes me smile, and that I am buying a ticket to Wales in order to steal it from Andrea once she gets it back.

That said: HOLY. CRAP. France, this is absolutely incredible

Wow, again. I've just been checking it out(close up) again. I can't believe how lucky I am.

France, you know you hit it right on the head - why I love drawing this stuff so much. It all tells a story, about you, your life and what is happening right now. As you said 'little pieces of your life'. The contents of your purse will be different in a week or two. It's also why I draw this stuff over and over. It always changes, and even the little scraps of paper, shopping lists, etc are all significant. In my eyes. I like to think it'll all make sense one day (not sure that that made any sense?!).

Brilliant, isn't it guys? I love so many bits. The Harveys cards (which I now also own too!) and I really love the pencil. Fan-bloody-tastic.

How sweet. I love that you did it in her style. This molyx group really seems to 'get' one another and it's just cool for the rest of us to watch, so I can only imagine how lucky you all must feel!

Gabi, i'll be there at 7:00 with a bottle of Chilean wine :-)
Andrea: Gosh, i am so happy you like it.
I am not surprised you feel the need to draw these little scraps of your life on a regular basis -- as i seem to function the same way. Whether it's the contents of the side pocket of my purse or what's sitting on my desk. It's ever-changing.
And boy, was it hard to select which ones to leave out when i did this! I'm just going to have to do another one and call it "Homage to AJ #2". And so on!
Thanks guys for the comments. Can't wait for you to see what i've done to Suzanne's Moly :-)
